Worldwide Auctioneers offers Superman movie taxi and police car, screen-used props with original Metropolis livery, both selling without reserve.
Two instantly recognizable screen-used cars from the 2025 Superman film are set to cross the block at Worldwide Auctioneers, offering collectors and fans of cinema a rare chance to own authentic Hollywood history. Both vehicles are being offered without reserve and come directly from the personal collection of the movie’s Picture Car Coordinator.
The first is a 2003 Ford taxi, one of just three examples built for and featured in the blockbuster superhero film. Still wearing its “City of Metropolis” yellow livery, the cab appeared in multiple on-screen sequences and remains in the same condition in which it was last seen on the big screen. More than a standard production vehicle, the taxi represents a tangible connection to the Metropolis of the DC universe, making it ideal for museum display, memorabilia collections, or enthusiasts seeking a functional movie prop.
Joining it is a j, also one of three surviving examples from the production. Outfitted with “City of Metropolis” police markings, it comes complete with functional strobe lights and spotlight, just as it appeared in the film’s action-packed urban sequences. Unlike static props, this vehicle retains its usability, offering bidders the chance to own a screen-worn movie car that can still be driven and displayed with authenticity.
Both vehicles highlight the importance of movie cars as cultural artifacts. While they may not carry the exotic engineering of collector supercars, their provenance as part of a globally released, franchise-defining film adds immeasurable appeal.
