This 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, with a six-speed manual transmission and the optional Precision Package, was our tester.

The redesigned front end, with vertically stacked LED headlights and larger air intakes, has a more aggressive look than before.

The 18-way massaging sport seats are adjustable, heated, and ventilated.

The new curved display looks great, but its menu layout is not all that intuitive to navigate.

The six-speed manual also supports “no lift” shifting, which allows the driver to keep the throttle pinned to the floorboard during upshifts.

At the heart of the model is a 668 hp, 6.2-liter supercharged V-8.

A midsize performance sedan with a manual transmission, the CT5-V Blackwing (a 2026 example is shown here in Typhoon Metallic) is a welcome anachronism in today’s automotive space.

With the six-speed manual transmission, the CT5-V Blackwing (a 2026 example is shown here in Drift Metallic) is capable of covering zero to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed claimed to be over 200 mph.

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (a 2026 example is shown here) has a curb weight of just over 4,100 pounds.

The Precision Package unsurprisingly earns its keep, offering even better body control and more immediate turn-in than the standard CT5-V Blackwing.

Out in the hills, the combination of the Blackwing’s V-8, its rear-drive layout, and its sophisticated Performance Traction Management system equate to precisely measured drama.

While certain options can erode some of the value proposition that the model offers over its German rivals, the starting price is still under six figures.
