Rumors have been spreading that Ryan Reynolds and Robert Downey Jr. were involved in a conflict on the set of Avengers: Doomsday. Now, a fresh report suggests that not only were the actors not involved in a disagreement, but that they’ve actually never met.
The rumor started after The Hot Mic’s John Rocha reported that two Avengers: Doomsday actors had a falling-out while working (via SuperHeroHype). According to Rocha, this argument had caused a “big rift” during production.
Rocha noted that the feud was between “two outspoken actors,” but stopped short of naming any names. This led to fans and other outlets suggesting that the argument was Ryan Reynolds and Robert Downey Jr., despite Rocha later stating this wasn’t the case.
Ryan Reynolds and RDJ ‘have never met’
On an episode of The Truth, Rocha said that he had saw articles running “like crazy” with incorrect speculation. “Neither side of it was RDJ or Ryan Reynolds,” Rocha confirmed.
Now, in a new report from People, it’s claimed that not only were RDJ and Reynolds not involved in the altercation, but they haven’t even worked on the movie together.
According to the outlet’s “insider,” there is “zero bad blood” between Reynolds and RDJ, noting that while Downey Jr. has been confirmed for the role of Doctor Doom in the upcoming movie, it’s still unclear if Reynolds will be reprising his role as Deadpool.
On top of that, People’s source alleges that: “The two have never met in person.” If true, this means that although Avengers: Doomsday is currently in production, neither RDJ or Ryan Reynolds’ Marvel characters have interacted.
