MENTOR, Ohio (WJW) – A 16-year-old student was hit by a truck and dragged several feet early Wednesday morning as she crossed a street near Mentor High School.
According to the city’s communication officer, at about 6:22 a.m., a 54-year-old man driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado turned south onto Center Street from Fairfax Avenue when he struck the teen.

“The student was dragged several feet and found beneath the vehicle when Mentor police and fire units arrived on scene,” stated a media release. “She remained conscious and alert and was transported to Lake West Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”
The incident remains under investigation.
