  • Ineos is cutting prices of its Grenadier SUV and Grenadier Quartermaster pickup truck.

  • The SUV now starts at $72,600 (down by $7900), while the Quartermaster starts at $86,000 (down by $8500).

  • The U.S. is Ineos's biggest market, but both vehicles are built in France and are currently subject to a 27.5 percent tariff; the Quartermaster is hit with an extra 25 percent tax.

Nascent automaker Ineos is slashing prices across its lineup. This follows a three-month span where the British company raised prices to account for the tariffs implemented by President Donald Trump on imported cars, as reported by Automotive News. The price cuts apply to both the Grenadier SUV and the Grenadier Quartermaster pickup truck, the latter of which started arriving in the U.S. earlier this year.

An Ineos spokesperson told Car and Driver that these new price cuts went into effect on August 1. The move comes after Ineos raised prices in April when the United States imposed a 27.5 percent tariff on vehicles imported from Europe, with both of Ineos's off-road-focused body-on-frame vehicles built in a factory in France.

The standard Grenadier SUV will now start at $72,600, down by a whopping $7900. Before Trump's import tariffs went into effect, the base Grenadier cost $76,700, making this new price a discount even from that original starting figure. The Trialmaster and Fieldmaster trims now start at $80,600, also down by $7900.

The base Grenadier Quartermaster pickup will now require $86,000. The Quartermaster originally cost a hefty $96,500 before Ineos dropped it to $85,500 in March. The tariff-related price hike saw the cost rise back up to $94,500, so the new figure represents an $8500 discount over that price but a $500 increase over the price from March.

According to Automotive News, the U.S. is Ineos's largest market, citing an Ineos spokesperson who said that first-half deliveries in the U.S. were up by 2 percent over 2024. However, AN also cited vehicle registration data that shows a 23 percent drop in June and a 14 percent decline through the first half of the year to 2468 registrations.

A trade deal signed between the U.S. and European Union in late July was supposed to reduce the import tariff to 15 percent, but recently revealed details now show that the tariff will remain at 27.5 percent until the EU "formally introduces the necessary legislative proposal" to reduce tariffs on industrial goods and agricultural products from the U.S. The Quartermaster is also slapped with an extra 25 percent tariff, colloquially called the Chicken Tax, that has been in effect since 1964 and applies to imported pickup trucks and cargo vans.
