Mel Trotter Ministries is expanding with a new thrift store in Hudsonville, marking its seventh location in West Michigan.

A grand opening was slated for 9 a.m. July 31 at 5221 Cherry Ave. near the intersection of Chicago Drive and 36th Avenue.

“We’re very excited to add this new thrift store location in Hudsonville,” CEO Chris Palusky wrote in a release. “We’re constantly looking for ways to enhance our services to the region and bring the compassion of Jesus Christ to our neighbors in need. The addition of this new store will allow us to more effectively serve people in the Hudsonville area, and offer quality items for families needing affordable clothing and home goods.”

The 13,475-square-foot site will employ 14 people and serve as a convenient drop-off center for community members looking to donate their new or gently used items.
