OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been asked to assist with an investigation into allegations that naked women were seen on a television screen in the office of the top school official.

Oklahoma County District Attorney Vicki Zemp Behenna made the request, according to a statement from her office.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office is investigating allegations that two State Board of Education members saw the pictures of naked women on a television set in the office of State Superintendent Ryan Walters during an executive session last week.

Board member Becky Carson filed a complaint with the Office of Management and Enterprise Services, which asked the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office to investigate.

The agencies’ investigation will center on whether any individual improperly exhibited obscene material, Behenna’s office said.

Behenna’s office said the district attorney wants the Sheriff’s Office and OSBI to coordinate “to support a complete and well-coordinated investigation.

“The purpose is to determine whether any criminal activity occurred – and, if so, ensure it is addressed through the proper legal process,” her office said.

Walters has denied wrongdoing.
