(NewsNation) — A 76-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of administering poison after eight children fell ill at a summer camp in England.
Police responded to reports of children feeling unwell at a camp in Leicestershire, nearly 100 miles north of London.
A triage center was established at the camp to enable emergency services to assess the children initially, police said. They were then taken to the hospital as a precaution, and have since all been discharged.

The man was arrested on “suspicion of administering poison or a noxious thing with intent to injure, aggrieve or annoy,” according to the police. He remains in custody.
“This is a complex and sensitive investigation, and we will continue to provide updates to both parents and guardians and the public as and when we can,” said Neil Holden, senior investigating officer.
Police did not indicate which substance was used, and the investigation remains ongoing.
