
Some good news arrived late Thursday night, after much anticipation and anxiety among 140,000 individuals who use Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas at Covenant Health in Lubbock and around Texas.
According to a news release, Covenant Health and BCBS have reached an agreement that will keep BCBS in network at Covenant facilities.

"We are pleased to announce Covenant Health has successfully reached a new contract agreement with BlueCross BlueShield of Texas, effective July 31, 2025. This agreement ensures that over 140,000 individuals will maintain in-network access to Covenant’s hospitals and healthcare providers throughout Texas," read the statement.
According to Covenant, the agreement is set to impact individuals and families across 20 counties seeking care at Covenant Medical Group, Grace Clinic, and all Covenant hospitals — including the one in New Mexico.
"We appreciate BlueCross BlueShield's commitment to collaborating with Covenant Health in delivering affordable and accessible healthcare to our members," reads the statement. "Thank you for entrusting Covenant Health with your healthcare needs. We are honored to serve you."
