A GoFundMe was created to raise funds for the family of an 18-year-old from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, who was killed in a July crash in Dartmouth.

The 18-year-old, Amilton De Pina Semedo, along with 19-year-old Kevin Dos Santos Lopes of New Bedford, were killed in a crash on July 26.

At about 1:35 p.m. on July 26, there were multiple 911 calls reporting a crash on Interstate 195 in Dartmouth near mile marker 19.4 near the Reed Road exit.

A 2006 gray Chevy Equinox was the only car involved.

The teenagers had been ejected from the SUV and the crash dislodged the SUV’s engine. They were taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

The crash is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police along with Troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. Officials said it is not deemed suspicious, MassLive previously reported.

The GoFundMe is raising money for funeral and memorial services, grief support, counseling services and any other additional costs that the family might need.

“As you can imagine, no parent is ever prepared to lose a child, and during this unimaginable time, the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming,” the GoFundMe page reads.

The GoFundMe’s goal is set for $15,000. As of Aug. 2, $5,702 has been raised from 121 donations.
