U.S. Rep. Cory Mills of Florida − who was sued by his landlord in District of Columbia Superior Court in July − will not have to face an eviction hearing in September.

An Aug. 4 filing on behalf of Parcel 47F LLC, in care of the Bozzuto Management Company, voluntarily dismisses the claims against Mills, a second-term congressman who represents Seminole and southern Volusia counties.

The notice does not state how much Mills paid or whether he will remain a tenant of the luxury $20,833-per-month penthouse. But the congressman himself acknowledged the development in a text message to The News-Journal.

"All is paid, sir," Mills responded to an inquiry.

He did not immediately respond to questions about whether he will continue living in the building and how he was able to come up with enough to settle the matter.

Mills owed $85,009.80, according to a July 9 court filing. He had not paid rent in several months, and was behind in his rent most every month for the two years he lived there.
