A jury found a longtime drug dealer guilty of multiple charges related to drug trafficking in the Scranton area.
In October 2023, Junior Rashean Jackson, 38, of Scranton, was selling drugs out of a hotel room rented solely for that purpose.
Law enforcement executed a search warrant of the room and found 14 grams of fentanyl and 13 grams of cocaine packaged for sale.
Officers also found cash and items commonly used in drug distribution.
“This individual has profited from dealing drugs in our community for far too long,” said District Attorney Brian Gallagher. “Junior Jackson, who relocated to Scranton from the Bronx 17 years ago, has a history of drug trafficking convictions and has been a persistent threat to the safety and well-being of our residents.”
Jackson was found guilty of possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of fentanyl, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Assistant District Attorneys Christopher Osborne and Danielle Guari prosecuted the case.
Jackson faces a maximum sentence of 57 years in state prison, fines totaling $752,500 and a term of supervised release following incarceration.
Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date following a review of the state sentencing guidelines, Gallagher said.
