Known for going big, Hennessey Performance is strutting its stuff with a modified Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre. The supercharged beast earns its name rightfully with a claimed 1,000-horsepower on tap, weaving luxury with even more extreme performance. But for now, it’s a one-of-one example.

Porsche shows off its new 911 Cup car.

From the factory, the CT5-V Blackwing is an impressive machine. After all, the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 hums out a stout 668-bhp. That power is put to good use, plus it’s paired with Brembo brakes and excellent handling dynamics.

But, it also could be better.

Anyone brave enough to take theirs to Hennessey can get a huge power bump. With a peak 966 lb.-ft. of torque as well, this Caddie is quick. Those chops are gained through an array of wizardry like a high-flow supercharger, ported heads, upgraded valvetrain, custom cam, modified fuel system, and of course a better exhaust.

Even though the thing is a sedan, we consider this to be a true modern American muscle car.

The name “Le Monstre” comes from Cadillac’s storied motorsports history. For the 1950 24 Hours of Le Mans, the automaker entered a Series 61 Coupe that had been heavily modified. That racecar was called “Le Monstre.”

Anyone who orders the car from the factory get a unique aesthetic which includes gloss black badges, a satin exterior, blue-tinted carbon fiber trim pieces, and a gray interior with blue accents.

While the car is impressive direct from Cadillac, once Hennessey is done with it, the thing better matches its namesake.

Just 101 examples of this Caddie are being built, so it’s not going to be cheap. We wonder how many lucky souls who snag one will in turn take it to Hennessey to bump up the performance to 1,000-hp?
