A second man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found fatally injured on a bench.

Northamptonshire Police launched an investigation after it was called to a footpath behind Auctioneers Court, Northampton, at about 06:30 BST on 1 August.

Robert Brown, 57, was found on a bench, and a post-mortem examination on 2 August found he had suffered an arm wound.

Police said a 41-year-old man from Northampton was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday and remained in police custody. A 38-year-old was previously arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday and was released on bail on the same day.

Det Insp Torie Harrison said: "We still want to speak to anyone who may have been in the area of the towpath behind Auctioneers Court overnight from 31 July to 1 August to contact us even if you don't believe you have any relevant information."
