Limited-Edition Collection Is Already Sold Out

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of its arrival in North America, and to give it something to show at 2025 Monterey Car Week, Aston Martin turned to its Q division to create customized versions of its three current convertibles with design elements inspired by both the Monterey locale and "the visceral joy of open-air driving," according to the automaker.

This "Thrillseeker Collection" will have a production run of just nine units, all of which are already spoken for. Aston said production is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of this year, but did not discuss pricing.

The trio includes a Vantage Roadster in Mako Blue, a DB12 Volante in Seychelles Blue, and a Vanquish Volante in Ultramarine Black, all giving the ambience of oceanside views in different lighting. All three cars have bronze wheels and bronze side strakes. The rotary controller on each car's center console is finished in bronze as well, and a matching luggage set is included.

The three convertibles represent the current Aston Martin performance hierarchy. The Vantage Roadster and DB12 Volante are both powered by a Mercedes-AMG twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 producing 670 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, but the DB12 offers a bit more space and a grand tourer character. The Vanquish Volante uses Aston's own twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12, good for 824 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque.

Keeping Things Fresh

Like most other high-end brands, Aston is emphasizing personalization options for customers willing to spend the extra money on a bespoke configuration. In 2023 it opened a showroom for Q personalized commissions on New York City's Park Avenue, and it's been periodically releasing limited-edition or one-off builds—like the recent Mex'Uk Series Vantage and DB12 Volante Palm Beach Edition—to show off Q's capabilities.

But Aston isn't just dressing up old designs. The Vantage, DB12, and Vanquish are all fairly fresh, and Monterey Car Week also marks the public debut of the production-ready Valhalla supercar. Nearly six years in the making, the Valhalla features a plug-in hybrid powertrain built around the same Mercedes-AMG V8 used in other Aston models that generates 1,064 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque. With this powertrain, a mid-mounted engine, and a minimalist carbon-fiber chassis, the Valhalla is unlike any previous Aston road car.
