Cedar Point's waterpark unintentionally expanded Monday, July 28, as heavy rains flooded several areas of the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland issued a flash flood warning at 5:02 p.m. on July 28 for Erie County, home of the theme park, as flash flooding was ongoing or expected to begin shortly after the warning. Thunderstorms had already dropped up to 3 inches of rain on the region by that time, and another 2 inches were expected.

Social media posts show children splashing in water at the main entrance of the park, as well as people sloshing their way through ankle-deep water inside the park. A Cedar Point spokesperson told Fox 8 News in Cleveland that the areas of the park with high water tend to recede quickly after storms pass.

But see for yourself. Here's a smattering of photos and videos posted to X and Facebook.
