The insider explained that when Justin is in the studio, he gets "completely consumed and shuts everything else out," adding that his all-or-nothing approach often leaves Hailey feeling sidelined.
Now that his seventh studio album is finally out and receiving strong reviews, things between the couple are said to feel lighter.
"There's a sense of relief on both sides," the source said. "Justin's behavior has been more relaxed."
They further noted that the pop star is relieved by the warm reception: "He felt a lot of pressure hanging over him and has been in a better mental headspace these last few weeks. He is very happy there have been positive reviews of the album and that fans like it."
