Christina Haack Rips Off Ex-Husband Tarek El Moussa’s ‘Toupee’ as They Reveal the Fate of “The Flip Off”

It’s official! The Flip Off is coming back for season 2 — and its stars didn't miss a chance to share the news in an over-the-top way.

On Aug. 21, HGTV announced the hit series starring Christina Haack, her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his new wife Heather Rae El Moussa would be returning for round two following a record-breaking first season. 

The stars marked the occasion with one of their wild signature skits, leaning into the most salacious rumors about themselves.

In an Aug. 21 Instagram Reel shared jointly by HGTV and all three stars, Tarek sets the scene by working in his home office when he gets the exciting news via text message, prompting him to exclaim, “The king is back, baby!”

In reference to being crowned the champion of season 1 alongside Heather, he immediately pulls out a gold crown from his desk, places it on his head and marches out of his office.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, his wife Heather and ex-wife Christina are chatting about how “life is good” when they get the same text message about season 2. The pair don matching black outfits with their long blonde locks styled in loose waves, seemingly poking fun at fans’ constant comments that they look alike.

Wearing his crown, Tarek enters the room and asks, “Honey, did you get the text?” before mistaking Christina for his wife. He accidentally puts his arm around his ex as she says in disgust, “Ew! You’re not the king!”

She then reaches to pull off his crown and accidentally grabs his infamous alleged toupee with it. The clip hilariously ends with the hair piece and crown laying on the floor as Frank Sinatra’s “Love and Marriage” plays in the background.

On her Instagram Stories, Christina poked even more fun at the rumors about Tarek's hair by asking her followers in a poll, “Does Tarek wear a toupee?!”

She included one of Tarek’s Instagram Reels from December where he debunked the rumor and explained how he’s “just a man with a voluminous full head of hair.”

The series, which attracted nearly 14 million total viewers in its first season, captivated audiences with an intense house flipping competition that pinned Heather and Tarek against Christina. Christina was originally teamed up with her then-third husband Josh Hall, but the pair split in the middle of filming and she continued the competition alone.

Fans can look forward to seeing more of the trio’s playful banter in season 2. While HGTV has yet to announce the premiere date, they did note in a recent press release that it would be coming sometime in 2026.

Despite some fans’ hope that Heather might team up with Christina this time around, the teams will stay the same for season 2, per the release.

“Having learned her lessons from last season, Christina will throw out the rule book and do everything she can to beat Tarek and Heather Rae at the flipping game,” the release states.
