The super-powered off-road pickup truck wars are back on, it seems. Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa finally indicated that the Ram 1500 TRX would be making a return to the lineup during an H1 2025 financial call, bringing an end to months of speculation from fans and the media alike.
According to the folks at Mopar Insiders, the news came during an outline of how Filosa and his executive team plan on digging the auto giant out of its current fiscal situation. While previewing some of what’s to come during the second half of 2025, the executive let the following information slip in front of reporters.
“The V8 engine on versions, such as the Ram 1500 TRX, will deliver to us additional volumes but also accredited margins per unit,” said Filosa.

While Ram has already announced plans to revive the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 for the 2026 model year, this is the first time we’ve heard an executive make straightforward comments about the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V-8 coming back to the fold. The original TRX was axed back in early 2024, with emissions concerns related to its blown powertrain playing a serious role. Given the current political climate in the United States — the primary market for the TRX — that is no longer something Stellantis or Filosa needs to be as concerned about.
According to Mopar Insider’s sources, the truck is slated to begin production at the automaker’s Sterling Heights production facility in January 2026, nearly two years to the month since the TRX was killed off, and reports that will feature the styling and tech updates that arrived for the 2025 models, likely mirroring the beefed-up RHO offering. That said, we expect the next TRX to push the recipe a bit further, with even more capability and power. Considering the F-150 Raptor R churns out a healthy 720 hp these days, any new TRX will have to surpass the outgoing model’s 702 hp output. The truck does seem like a natural launching point for the newly revived SRT division, which will helm performance products across Stellantis’ North American brands. Here’s hoping we don’t have to wait much longer before hearing that iconic supercharged shriek once more.
