Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Investigates Plano ISD For Alleged Antisemitic Actions

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton launched an investigation into the Plano Independent School District (PISD) on August 28 over alleged antisemitic incidents.

The probe centers on reports of biased classroom materials and school-sanctioned pro-Palestinian student walkouts. The investigation comes as Texas schools face heightened scrutiny over campus political activities. Paxton’s office demands extensive documentation from PISD officials about their handling of the incidents.

According to reports, PISD students received materials promoting pro-Palestinian viewpoints in classrooms. School officials allegedly provided excused absences for students joining pro-Palestinian walkouts, effectively endorsing the demonstrations.

“The reports regarding antisemitic activity in Plano ISD schools are alarming and must be swiftly and aggressively addressed,” said Attorney General Paxton. “Any teacher or administrator that has facilitated or supported radical anti-Israel rhetoric in our schools should be fired immediately.”

Paxton added: “I stand in solidarity with our Jewish community, and we will continue to do everything in our power to root out antisemitism in all its forms.”

Paxton sent a letter to PISD Superintendent Theresa Williams demanding documents. The request includes walkout policies, anti-Israel curriculum documentation, and disciplinary records for staff involved in antisemitic actions.

The letter emphasized timing concerns, noting the approaching two-year anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attack in Israel. It urged PISD to “take all necessary steps to combat antisemitism and appropriately discipline teachers, staff, and students that act in contravention to state law and PISD policy.”

The investigation marks Paxton’s latest action targeting school districts over political activities. PISD has not yet publicly responded to the attorney general’s demands.
