Everyone loves a Chevelle, even the Mopar and Ford guys do in secret, but this ’65 is better than most. Heavily modified, this isn’t some big fancy shop’s build. Instead, the owner, Anthony Campbell, built it himself in his residential garage. We can respect that.
This 1969 Chevelle restomod is a dream come true.
Even though the fender badges clearly say “LSX” this Chevy is packing a fully forged LS2 with a stage 2 cam instead. That just goes to show reading badges can mislead you when it comes to modified rides. On top of that, literally, are LS3 heads and a BTR intake.

Ensuring the optimal amount of air gets crammed into the cylinders every intake stroke are twin 66mm turbos. It’s tuned for E85 and is running 16 psi of boost. All that is good for a claimed 920-whp – amazing!
Campbell went with the tried and true T56 Magnum for the transmission, but he opted for a unit built by American Powertrain so it can handle the extra power without issue. And of course, he has a Ford 9-inch rear.
For the suspension, he went with a UMI Performance Stage 5 Package, which comes with double adjustable coilovers for all four wheels. He also went with manual brakes and Wilwood calipers/discs.
It sounds like he’s learned through some trial and error, like munching the original rear axle on the Chevelle. If we’re all being honest, that’s how you progress, especially when you don’t just fork out a bunch of cash to some professionals.

Even better, the guy didn’t outsource any of the work. He did the paint and bodywork, installed the full cage, plus he did the interior in his garage – that’s impressive. But Campbell used to work at a collision shop, so he knows what he’s doing.
As you can imagine, not only does this car look good, it moves like a beast.Check out this amazing garage-built ’65 Chevelle in action and learn more about it on Autotopia LA.
