Which JCPenney stores in Pennsylvania were sold?
These three JCPenney locations in Pennsylvania have been sold to the Boston-area private equity firm Onyx Partners, Ltd.:
Greensburg: Westmoreland Mall, 5256 Route 30
Harrisburg: High Pointe Commons, 4680 High Pointe Boulevard
Pittsburgh: The Mall at Robinson T/C, 2000 Robinson Town Center
These stores currently remain open for business.
Are there any other JCPenney stores in Pennsylvania?
JCPenney lists 21 operating stores in Pennsylvania, including the three sold locations.
Of those, there are two JCPenney locations in Pittsburgh, and one each in Erie, Lancaster, Scranton and Wilkes Barre.
JCPenney does not have a location in Philadelphia, according the JCPenney location finder tool.

None of the three Delaware JCPenney locations were listed among the 119 locations sold.

Why is JCPenney selling stores?
All 119 stores that were sold are currently operational. The buyer, Onyx Partners, did not respond to a request for comment from USA TODAY.
JCPenney closed more than 200 U.S. locations when the retailer filed for bankruptcy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
More recently, seven store closings announced in February 2025 became official in May 2025.
Two other properties — one in Florida and one in Pennsylvania, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing — were sold to the Simon and Brookfield group for $21 million earlier this year.
