
OSWEGO, Ill. (WGN) — More than a dozen people were injured after police say a vehicle plowed into a Portillo’s restaurant in Oswego, Illinois, prompting a multi-agency response.
Fourteen people suffered injuries, according to police. Of those injured, paramedics rushed eight people to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown. Paramedics also treated six people at the scene who were later released.

Details remain limited, but Oswego police say officers at the scene, just outside of Chicago, are investigating. Based on their preliminary findings, the crash appears to be accidental.

As a result of the crash, police ask commuters to avoid the area.
