HOLYOKE — Holyoke Gas and Electric said it would begin a drawdown of the Connecticut River above the Holyoke Dam starting Monday evening.

The water level, the utility said, would drop about three feet “to facilitate inspection work planned for the following morning,” according to its list of current projects.

Once the inspection is completed Tuesday, the utility said would allow the lake behind the dam fill back up.

“It is expected that it may take up to 24 hours for the river above the dam to fill back to normal,” the utility said.
