The Ram 1500 TRX returns with Hellcat power intact, reasserting itself as the king of high-performance off-road trucks.
Just when it seemed the Hellcat era was over, Ram has resurrected the fire-breathing 1500 TRX, complete with its supercharged V8 fury. Confirmed this week by Stellantis, the Ram TRX is officially back for the 2025 model year, bringing its 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI engine along for the ride — and making a bold statement in an increasingly electrified truck market.
Originally introduced in 2020 as a response to the Ford Raptor, the TRX carved out a reputation as a desert-dominating, apex predator of pickups, delivering over 700 horsepower and off-road capability in a brutish package. Ram quietly paused production of the Hellcat-powered TRX after 2023, leaving fans wondering if it was gone for good. It wasn’t.
“The demand never left. We heard our customers loud and clear,” said Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis. “The TRX is back to lead the performance truck pack once again.”
The returning 2025 TRX will continue to offer its 702-horsepower supercharged 6.2L V8, paired with a robust 8-speed automatic transmission and performance-tuned 4x4 system. While final specs and pricing are expected closer to launch, insiders confirm that off-road suspension upgrades, Bilstein adaptive shocks, and 35-inch tires will remain part of the package.
Ram is also expected to offer limited-edition trims, special graphics, and possibly a new color palette as it reintroduces the TRX to a fiercely competitive market that now includes electrified and hybrid alternatives.
With the revival of the TRX, Ram reasserts its dominance in the high-horsepower truck wars — and makes it clear that there’s still a place for raw, unapologetic combustion performance in a world shifting toward quiet efficiency.
The beast is back. And it’s louder than ever.
