University of Arkansas-Fort Smith sets move-in dates

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith announced its move-in dates will be Aug. 13 and Aug. 15.

According to a press release, major campus move-ins will begin with freshmen from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. General movie-in will be August 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lion’s Den and Sebastian Commons.

The release says volunteers in brightly colored Numa’s Move-In Crew shirts will be present to assist students and parents with their moves.

Nabholz Construction will provide a cookout lunch on Aug. 13.

UAFS will assign students specific move-in time slots in an effort to reduce congestion. The time slots will be communicated through email before Move-In Day. Parking and Traffic instructions will also be provided.

According to the release, Fort Smith residents should expect heavier traffic around Waldron Road and Grand Avenue during the movie-in.

Early move-ins will begin August 8 for international students, Cub Camp staff members and student-athletes on the volleyball and cross-country teams.
