Kentucky woman charged after 20 dead cats, 8 heavily decayed found in home

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Louisville woman who was charged with animal abuse after 20 cats were found dead in a home was arraigned on Wednesday.

According to court documents, Tiffany Arnold allegedly left 24 cats inside an empty home in the 7300 block of Leisure Court.

On March 17, Louisville Metro Animal Services got permission to enter the home and allegedly found 20 dead cats and four cats that were still alive. One cat was rushed to an animal hospital but was later euthanized due to the severity of its injuries, according to court documents.

Eight dead cats were too decayed for necropsy exams.

Arnold was charged with 24 counts of torture of a dog or cat.

According to the FOX affiliate in Louisville, WDRB, at her arraignment on Wednesday, a judge entered not guilty pleas on her behalf and kept her bond at $7,500 cash.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 14.
