Florida man arrested in nonfatal shooting of a woman at a Grand Chute hotel

The Grand Chute Police Department is investigating the nonfatal shooting of a woman at a Grand Chute hotel.

Officers responded to a report on Aug. 8 of one person shot at the hotel on the 1000 block of south Westland Drive at 9:52 p.m., according to a news release from the department.

A 42-year-old woman was found with a single gunshot wound to the chest. She was taken to an area hospital and was in stable condition, according to the release.

A 47-year-old Florida man was taken into custody in connection with the shooting. He was booked into the Outagamie County Jail on several charges, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call the Grand Chute Police Department at (902) 832-1575; to remain anonymous, text "GCPD" to 847411.
