Another Truly Special SUV From JLR
Over the past six weeks or so, JLR has been releasing several limited editions based on the Range Rover Sport SV, with the SV Nocturne as the first of a series of three Bespoke models, the SV Black as the second, and the SV Carbon as the last. Now, it's the turn of the non-Sport Range Rover, with last night's Monterey Car Week reveal of the new Range Rover SV Asilomar. As a one-off, this is described as the "peak" of Range Rover exclusivity, showcasing "the full potential of Range Rover Bespoke customization." Practically the only element that has been left untouched is the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering 606 horsepower.
Inspired By Monterey Bay Blues

The entire vehicle is dripping in opulent style, and the first element to catch the eye is the Bespoke Light and Dark Blue two-tone finish, which is rich with metallic flakes that make the paint pop in the California sun. Inspired by the blues of Asilomar Cove in Monterey Bay, the darker of the two hues also appears on the 23-inch diamond-turned wheels with Gloss Gray inserts, while script badges in body color with a chrome surround help identify this as a product of the Bespoke department.

Inside, doorsill treadplates display the name of the vehicle, welcoming occupants into a cabin upholstered in Bespoke Liberty Blue leather with grey Kvadrat fabric and tonal stitching. The seats in this long-wheelbase model boast unique embroidery, with the rears featuring the SV Signature Suite that allows reclining and provides a Veneer Club Table. As a final touch, the floors have Liberty Blue mats with Perlino binding, and SV-branded glassware makes every sip special.
All For A Good Cause

The Range Rover SV Asilomar has been created with a view to supporting ocean conservation, with $5,000 of the undoubtedly lofty asking price set aside for the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Foundation. In addition, the new owner will get a Titleist Professional golf club fitting for two, with each guest receiving a fully customized set of custom clubs. If you're interested, the vehicle is on display at Range Rover House Pebble Beach until the end of the weekend for closer inspection (as is the aforementioned SV Sport Carbon), and enquiries can be made at your local Land Rover dealer. As for what the asking price might be, there's no indication, but you can be sure that it's deep in six-figure territory.
