After weeks of extreme heat with feels-like temperatures into the triple digits, Georgia is finally in for some relief.
According to WSB-TV Atlanta Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz, cooler air is set to arrive just in time for the weekend.
Afternoon storms are expected to stick around over the next several days, with a noticeable drop in temperatures.
How much cooler will it get in Georgia this week?
Highs through Friday will still hover in the low 90s, right around average for late July. But by Saturday, cooler air and rain will bring a significant drop.

On Sunday, the rain may linger, but the storms should move out. High temperatures are only expected to reach the upper 70s, making it one of the coolest days Georgia has seen in weeks.
