Books line shelves at Goodwill Southeast Georgia's Eisenhower retail story prior to a previous Teacher Book Giveaway, which is an annual event that will take place once again on Saturday, Aug. 2 at various locations.

Most back-to-school events and giveaways address student needs for backpacks, pencils and other supplies.

From 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, however, Goodwill Southeast Georgia’s stores will be hosting the nonprofit’s 6th Annual Teacher Book Giveaway.

Goodwill's District Manager Kamena Bass said the annual event "is important to me as a past educator because it adds to the tools in the classroom, eliminates barriers to education for our community and increases students' full potential for learning."

All participating Goodwill Southeast Georgia retail locations can be found at www.goodwillsega.org/locations/. Goodwill’s Bit of Blue, the outlets and boutique locations will not be hosting giveaways.

Educators should bring a valid school or homeschool identification card so they can select 10 free books to take home for their students or classroom and receive 10% off any purchases made on Saturday.

Interested educators can also pre-register for the event here at www.jotform.com/form/251875404646160.

A press release about the event stated, “Education is at the core of Goodwill’s mission to transform lives through skills training and employment opportunities.”
