Man dies after shooting near Kansas City convenience store: KCPD

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A shooting in Kansas City, Missouri left one person dead Saturday afternoon, August 2, according to the Kansas City Police Department.

KCPD says that at around 7 p.m., officers were called to the area near 53rd Street and Prospect Avenue on a reported shooting. When those officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a nearby convenience store.

KCPD then began life-saving operations on the victim, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. KCPD has yet to identify the victim.

At this time, KCPD says no suspects are in custody.

Detectives are now on the scene investigating what led up to the shooting.
